Combine find-and-replace rules, regular expressions, prefix and suffix text, character removal, case changes, numbering and extension changes. Review names and collisions, then download copies or generate PowerShell/Shell rename and undo scripts without reading file contents.
How to use it
- Select the files you want to rename.
- Combine naming rules and inspect the live preview.
- Resolve invalid patterns or duplicate output names.
- Compatible with most browsers. Original files stay unchanged; downloads copy the file data. For large files: creates scripts from names only, without reading file contents. Run them yourself on a desktop.
- Extract both scripts into the folder containing ALL selected files (no subfolders). Review the preview, then run sh rename-files.sh on macOS/Linux, or .\rename-files.ps1 in PowerShell. Scripts use their own folder. Run undo-rename only after a fully successful apply. Keep this folder unchanged while running; retain temporary files if recovery fails. Scripts never run automatically.

Will my original files be renamed?
Downloads leave originals unchanged. Running the generated rename script changes names in its own folder; the undo script reverses a fully successful run. No files or file names are uploaded.
Can I remove the whole original name?
Yes. Enable the clear original name option, then build names from prefixes, suffixes, numbering or a custom pattern.
